FACIAL GUA SHA
TECHNIC AND TOOLS
Gua = to scrape or rub, Sha = red, pink or purple color, blood stagnation or flow to surface of skinFacial Gua
Sha is part of the modern Eastern Asian beauty therapy. It stems from modifications to the original frictionbased technique of Gua Sha practised on the body. It uses the same tools, but the technique is much gentler
and tailored to the delicate tissues of the face and neck, generally with the purpose of enhancing beauty and
the health of the skin. Facial Gua Sha encourages the beneficial flow of blood and fluids to and from the face.
It stimulates the activation of acupressure points that lift, tone and bring a vibrant glow from within. Facial
Gua Sha uses your own body‘s resources to heal and slow the visible signs of aging.
This simple yet powerful therapy brings about a fundamental change in the skin by clearing stagnation and accumalation in the tissues and the „channel pathways“ of Eastern Asian Medical Theory. By clearing these pathways , we are able to simultaneously create space within the tissue for the healthy exchange of nutrients and wastes that are essential for vibrant skin!

of heat (stimulate) circulation (so the muscles) to achieve an overall lift, contour, detox and increased nutrition and oxygenation to the skin.
Particular attention is paid to function of the facial muscles and lymphatic drainage pathways. The massage
relieve sore muscles and ease tension along the back, shoulders, neck and crown where stress manifests most!
